Travelling
I’m heading out into Europe for a bunch of meetings during the next two weeks. If you happen to be around and fancy a coffee, don’t hesitate to send me an email.
Barcelona, 13-16
Vienna, 16-18
Berlin, 18-20
Manchester, 24-27
Also, I just started a blog about mobile services (in Swedish, sorry) called mermobilt.se. Of course, as all blogs start out, there’s not much there yet (apart from good intentions!). Don’t hesitate to send me any links, recommendations or info that may or may not be interesting to know about in relation to new mobile services, their markets and technology.

Lolcode!
[ disclaimer: super-geek post ]
Ok, if you’ve ever done any programming and also followed the movement of the lolcats lately this will be ridiculously funny. Lolcode is a programing language based on the lolcat-talk and looks a bit like this:
HAI
CAN HAS STDIO?
I HAS A VAR
IM IN YR LOOP
UP VAR!!1
VISIBLE VAR
IZ VAR BIGGER THAN 10? KTHXBYE
IM OUTTA YR LOOP
KTHXBYE
The lolcode’s fitting tag-line is of course: Programming the LOL way. All LOLCats, LOL, ALL CAPS.

Last.fm Gets Videoized
Big news yesterday, last.fm are introducing video. Read/WriteWeb has a good write-up on the matter, MacManus writes:
When I read that, I immediately thought of Last.fm as the Web 2.0 version of MTV! That certainly seems to be their goal, and good on them for setting their sights so high. The fact they have at least a couple of big labels on board already (EMI and Warner, both of whom already have agreements with Last.fm regarding radio music) and they seem to be in good negotiations with others (Universal and Sony) indicates that it’s not an impossible dream

SonyBMG [heart] Blogs
I’m currently at a conference by the Swedish film industry where people are desperately trying to understand what is going on in the world. Per Sundin, CEO of Sony BMG Sweden, who doesn’t have much new to say drops one piece of information that caught my ear when coming from a major:
Blogs are the most important marketing channel when breaking a new artist. Much more important than the traditional journalists. /…/ Today we break all our new artists on the net in cooperation with our digital partners.
Finally we see a hint of majors beginning to address the changes taking place in our new media world!
Furthermore, when asked about DRM, Per said (with a smile) he didn’t want to say anything “on the record” but that SonyBMG’s policy was still positive towards DRM but that some larger changes where in the pipeline.
By the way, as a side note, Per was kind enough to say that the labels are pretty sad that all your music bought from ITMS can only be played on your iPod and nothing else. So, he told us to contact him and SonyBMG and they would happily give us the music we have payed for in a format that would work on, say, my Nokia. Thought I’d pass that information along, so if you want your SonyBMG music to play on your choice of device – give Per a call and he’ll sort you out!
[ terrible wifi here right now, hyperinks will be added later… sorry! ]

The CTO (Chief Trust Officer)
There’s a fairly long article by Eric & me in the upcoming edition of IDG’s magazine CIO that brings forward the importance of understanding trust in order to be successful in the new economy and within social software ventures especially. In the article we try to lay out the groundwork of why It is becoming crucial for companies to seriously start thinking about their trust-strategy. I am quite happy to see that the article is currently the headline story on the Swedish IDG site. If you know swedish you might want to check it out and let me know what you think!
By the way, our trustmojo book will be hitting the printing press soon, sign up for a release notification here.

So, we all knew it was coming but that it would arrive this fast? Things are looking good (unless you are DRM that is).
